Definitely makes the soft edges of the detail feel worn down.I actually like the colour contrasts between the grey surface and the cracks. I'd try a subtle coloured highlight in the cracked areas when you paint not just a shade.(if it doesn't work for you . You can always re shade them.)

Can I ask where you found the images for creating the wallpaper and floor patterns for the interior of these buildings? Would like to tackle something similar some day!

We can also see why I'm not allowed to choose the wallpaper for our real house :D

Hi

D Phipps, Plot points not objective markers  ;D shows how long it is between games  :'(

Tin Shed gamer, thanks for the comments, not sure if im reading your comments wrong but what your seeing is me scribing into the sculpey through the undercoat, these will get painted most likely in a sandstone colour.

The Bibliophile, I googled "Doll's house textures" "Doll house wallpapers" and similar to find the various files both in PDF and jpeg formats all around the web. sorry I cant be more specific, but I cant remember myself to be honest.

The Bibliophile Glad you found stuff.

Something a little different, I want to do some Pulp Alley Spy Vs Spy stuff, so here is a bad photo of where I'm up to with the figures so far.

Still got the bases to do but getting there I feel.

Thanks very much

Pistolpete the coins are sugarcraft moulds
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Pharaoh-Egyptian-Vintage-Coin-Silicone-Fondant-Mould-Cake-Decor-Icing-/391495377978?hash=item5b26f1643a:g:BGYAAOSweWVXc4Le
obviously this link will die over time but I searched for "Egyptian coin mould"

After various experiments with plaster and greenstuff to try and get decent casts I gave up with it, it wasn't until my daughter who being 6 was drawn to the pinkness of the mould managed to make a couple of decent casts out of it with playdoh that I nicked it back and tried sculpey which worked a treat.

The surfaces were then dug into with a dental pick to give it that weathered look and feel.

And a bit of a WIP here, for the spy vs spy modern pulp

"The Libyans, not sure how but they found me!"

Looks like everything is coming together nicely.
The weathered detailing has definitely brought those Egyptian tokens back from the bin.

Looking forward to seeing this project develop.

Mark.

Thanks Mark, yeah Im really happy with the way the tokens came out in the end, many thanks for your suggestion to weather them up.

Today, I managed to persuade the wife to play Pulp Alley for the first time so that I could get my head back around the rules, turns out she has all the luck with the dice, in 2 run throughs of "A Cairo caper" she did not fail a single peril/ challenge or plot point! It's just not cricket!  :D

Here's the table we played on.

no battle report, she stalked through the streets of Cairo like a cat...., I didnt get to deploy the minions of Apophis at all.

I only wish my own was a developed.( a case of the 'mechanics car' always busy with other peoples work.)
Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Mark.
