Gweirda's boring build
« on: January 04, 2017, 03:17:03 AM »
Late to the party, I guess.

(EDIT: Irrelevent photos/comments on past project deleted)

I'll do something practical to augment my existing 1/300 WW1 stuff -

either the infamous German 'twin-tail'

or a few (maybe a flight?) FE-8s

...or maybe both.

I'm old and gonna die soon, so sue me.   ;)

That was funnier than it should have been  :D

I'd go for the twin tail German jobby.

Well, I'm about to fall off the first page, so I figured I'd better post a photo:

Not very interesting, is it?  Hard to get detail out of some styrene carved/sanded to rough shape, especially when it's so small: At 1/300 the wings are only 1.9".

hmm...I just realized that that will disqualify my entry because it doesn't meet the 50mm minimum size.

oops

As Rich said, it's only the base that needs to be a minimum of 50mm - I'm just glad there is no upper limit to the base size

 :D

There is an actual upper limit size.....it has to be smaller the the real life Scariff Shield Gate! ;)

Only kidding! :D

Okay, the AOG C-I is too small, so it's out.  I'll finish it, of course, but not for the contest.

I plan to stick with something for my 1/300 WW1 gaming, and don't want to get caught with the 'not big enough' problem again, so...

I realize the choice puts me square in the 'dunno if I'll finish it or not' camp, but why not give it a try?

* it's the first thing mentioned in the video, not the second   ;)
