I'll admit my experience is quite parochial, but I'm definitely willing to broaden my horizons!

I’ve been working for awhile on the patrons for my cantina and finished the last of what I believe will be the standing patron figures… the seated figures will be done when I build my cantina interior.  Most of these figures are modified Wizards of the Coast Star Wars figures.  The modifications generally involved the removing of weapons from hands and replacing those weapons with plastic rod to serve as cups.  Some of their arms were repositioned as well.  The next largest group of figures used are Heroclix, and in addition to those is a figure that is part of the Disney Star Wars Parks Collection and another figure, Conehead, that I found at the swap meet for 50 cents (no idea what toy/game Conehead was originally part of).

From my perspective, one of the great attractions of this “Space” project is that it offered the opportunity for a great variety of populations/races, cultures, fashions, and technologies.  I have long been a fan of some of the figures from Privateer Press (Warmachine, Iron Kingdoms, Dark Age), and I saw this as my opportunity to incorporate some of them into one of my collections as a crew passing through this spaceport on the rim of the Verse.

Those latest additions look like they fit into your sci-fi setting just fine. Did you have to modify any of them?

Dr, I think the only significant modification I did to these was done to the second figure from the left in the first picture.  I replaced the edged weapon he was holding originally with a futuristic gun he is now carrying in a rather casual fashion.

Those PP figs look great: not at all out of place. Hooded rifleman and man in black from the second photo are my favourites.

They fit in very well. I have a couple of those got second hand, and as per usual I didn't know what range they were from, so thanks again for the ID
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

No question that Privateer Press make some great looking figures, and I was really happy to be able to work some of them into my Space project.  Thanks for the kind words.

Privateer's also a good source for alien critters (especially Everblight and many Skorne warbeasts) and robots (varying from the steamtech 'jacks to the anime-styled Retribution myrmidons to the art-deco droids of Convergence).  Many of the Retribution and Convergence models are perfect scifi sculpts with no mods required as well.  And it's hard not to like Cygnar's various "lightning storm" models for suitably-crazed Mad Science practitioners.

, an AWESOMEly masterminded job as always, CONGRATULATIONS!   :-*

I really like the clever way you are using Clix and Wizard's SW figures - people usually are a bit snob concerning them, but you got some really ace conversion/brushwork jobs there!

Looking forward to see your "spacey town" scenery!  ;)

Hobby Services, thanks for the insights on Privateer Press... great figures, but I admit that my knowledge of how broad their offering is was limited.

Dinohunterpoa, thanks so much for the generous comments.  I've probably said this before, but I'm not afraid of repeating myself when I say that at the start of this project/during the collection phase eight or more years ago, I really wasn't too deeply grounded in the kinds of Space-related figures that might be available, and since I wasn't really looking at giving this project a big 40k footprint, the Heroclix figures offered some options that I thought would work, and I am happy I brought them in... no snob me.  But as I got into the actual painting and building phase of this project I found that there is a world probably should say universe) of great things coming on line or that I just hadn't heard of... Wizards of the Coast Star Wars, Astropolis, Colony 87, Moonraker, Privateer Press, Action Fleet, Victory Force and...  This thing has really grown.

Take a look at AT-43 pre-painted figures!  ;)

dinohunterpoa, my "Alliance" forces are AT-43... less heavily armored than space marines.  I'm repainting and rebasing mine.  I think my AT-43 "Alliance" force consists of 24 figures of which five are medical including two nurses.  I love the shipping container hospital.

Pictures, pictures!  :)

The container hospital is great indeed - as well as the nurses!  ;D

I also like the Engineers very much - used them in an antarctic RPG adventure years ago!

And my UNA Steel Troopers (with the NVG heads) are the standard police force in my group's Cyberpunkish/Near Future RPG adventures!  ;)

I have one mechanic with a wrench-like tool and one figure in an orange suit with something that looks like a hair dryer/probably a scope attached by cord to a hand-held case.  They're both great figures.  I'm just about done with them so will be posting the AT-43s soon.  Today I'm going to post some of my spacecraft which are repurposed/slightly modified Star Wars' ships.
