jamesmanto, I don't disagree at all.  My initial plan was that the light grey containers would all have the Blue Sun logo attached (a homemade decal).  The problem I am confronting attaching decals to the large Reaper containers is that the ribbing on the sides of the containers is very narrow, very numerous and very close together... tough to put an effective decal on that.  Nonetheless, I will give that plan a try.  If it doesn't work, I'll just live with them the way they are.

Instead of a decal, what about a quick spray over a mould/stencil of the Black Sun logo?

Not sure I'm that creative.  My fallback position is probably going to be self-standing signs that have the Blue Sun logo... I really want to include that in some way.

 lol lol lol lol lol

Stencil spray logos are used nowadays in actual shipping containers; in a sci-fi setting, I think it would give a very nice "retro look" feel!  ;)

I don't question what you are saying, but the combination of the rough surface on these containers and my limited talents plus the fact that the Blue Sun logo is complex makes your suggestion unlikely in my case, but as I indicated I will give my decal idea a try, but doubt it will work because of the container surface issue.

Mate, you don't have any kind of "limited talents" whatsoever!  ;)

I use the Ainsty containers (I bought a pack of three at each show to spread the cost), so I do not know how the ribs compare. On one I have added some OO (4mm to the foot 1/76 scale) graffiti.

I gloss varnished the target area and used plenty of Humbrol Decalfix. The decals bedded in okay.

One source of decals are model railway suppliers. 40 foot HO (3.5mm to the foot 1/87 scale) look the right size for the Ainsty ones (they are smaller than 1/56).

I really like the GW Sector Mechanicus Galvanic Servohaulers, but I decided to go with the cheap swap meet version for $1… repainted cast-off toy.

Excellent, are you going to add the cables?

I have posted some photographs of (graffiti) decals on an Ainsty container on my blog.

The ribs appear wider than on  your containers.

More excellent work.

I agree though that it needs some cables.  Guitar strings would probably look great. If you don't have any, your local music store can probably give you old strings for free.

If I'm counting right, you have 31 Reaper containers. Adding decals or spraying them all would be a project all on it's own. Doctor Faust's Painting Clinic did a YouTube video about painting those containers. He had some real problems getting his mask to stick down with the ribbing too.

(I hope this link works...)

The servo-hauler crane looks great. And it doesn't have all the skulls on it. (I have to admit I'm getting used to the skulls, but I wouldn't miss them if they disappeared.) Did you disassemble that thing and spray it in parts, or did you paint it all put together?

While I won't be adding graffiti to the large shipping containers... the Alliance wouldn't permit that, I am going to take a shot at putting the Blue Sun logo on the light grey containers.

Michka, you counted right.  There are 31 large shipping containers.

I did not take the servo hauler crane apart before painting.  I sprayed it flat black and then began dry brushing.  Once the dry brushing was done I cleaned up any over brushing that had taken place and it was done.  The GW servo haulers are beautiful but this one will serve.

I love all your recent additions! :-*

I've tried myself the Blue Sun a couple of times and it's tricky indeed

You may want to use a pencil first so you know what to paint later, at least for the big letters ;D
