WestWind SOTR/Mech Kickstarter
« on: 04 February 2017, 02:23:02 PM »
The new WestWind Kickstarter is live.
Still think they produce some of the bestWWW ii minis.
More Horror style.
Interesting generic mech model and as far as i know the option to buy back catalog models for a fair price..

Here's hoping this one works out better, though keeping the goals modest will help.

Things look good so far. Just checked the kickstarter page and they are about $65.00 away from being fully funded.  :D :D :D :D :D

Looks like they should hit full initial funding in the first 24 hours. The initial funding goal unlocks the Jotun Panzer Mech, the Tesla cannon add-on (beautiful model with 6 crew figures), and the first section of their back catalog (30% of RRP)! Jim Bailey has announced that the will allow West Wind to offer the Grindhouse minis in the back catalog during the campaign. The first stretch goal will unlock the Flamm Jotun Panzer Mech and Iron Ike free mini. Second stretch goal is the Bulldog Mech.  :P

While I like the design of the mech, it is not looking WW II-ish to me.
Way too modern!
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - https://www.adpublishing.de

Agis, I agree on the look of the Jotun Panzer Mech. I actually like the Flamm Panzer Mech version better.

So West Wind has unlocked and expanded the add-ons available and items listed in the back catalog. Add-ons include the Telsa cannon and crew, a new unit for the Temple, Templar Aqusitors ( 6 new sculpts), Red Claw vs Flesh Golem (finally a flesh golem mini) that also includes Mr Smythe. All four of their Soviet Spider Mechs (Nayk, Hammerjaw, Termit and Suslik mining suit) are available at reduced prices. :-*  I love their Russian Mechs. IMHO they are the best Soviet Mechs available. In the back catalog, the entire range of Incursion A.P.E. suits are available at 30% off!  :o

The kickstarter is moving along nicely. They are about $600.00 away from unlocking the Bulldog British mech. Definitely want one of those!  :-*

Great to see this doing well and I hope it can pick up a couple of gears as we progress through to get some more mechs/minis unlocked.

I'm glad this one's going better, looks like I'm going to have to re-adjust the budget again.
(Fatroc - I agree, the Soviet mechs are really good - though I'd probably replace the turret on the Nayk heavy mech with a IS II/III or T-54/1 turret - Italeri a conveniently dropping a plastic IS II soon for a chep doner vehicle.)

Ballardian that is an interesting idea for a Nayk conversion. I actually have a couple of the old Linberg JS III models in 1/48 scale. Might have to see how that turret looks on the spider mech chassis.

It appears that the kickstarter has reached the level to unlock the British Bulldog Mech. Waiting for an official update. That will also mean more back catalog goodies available at 30% off. I think this level will also have the Von X clan from Incursion available in the back catalog. Loving this!

UVS - it's 1/56, I noticed it in a pic from the Nuremberg fair a couple of days ago (see below) - I assume it's in co-op with WG.
(In the wide shot you can see some other interesting stuff - 1/56 Matilda II, a Sevomente & another Italian tank  - possibly an M13/14/15 - would make sense as they could use some common parts, An 88mm flak 36 with crew & an Alte 250.)
Fatroc - I imagine making the turrets interchangable wouldn't be too hard.
