Cosmic Cube Wars - A Super-heroes "Zombicide" Campaign
« on: February 05, 2017, 10:18:07 PM »
For those interested we've just started what is anticipated to be a year-long campaign battling for the Cosmic Cube using the "Zombicide" rule-set. For now we're just using "Marvel Worldwide" characters but plan to expand the forces involved to include "DC Comics", "2000 A.D.", "Dark Horse Comics" and others.

For now though we've started small with Captain America, the Hulk, Spider-Man and Howard the Duck trying to prevent a riot in downtown New York.

Hopefully they'll be something here for you to enjoy...

As I mentioned on your blog, Simon, there was so much about this game that I enjoyed. I can't wait for part two.

How do you stat up your heroes?

For the villains, how do you determine what's a Fatty and what's an Abomination? Are there any "non generic" figures you use for Walkers?

How do you handle range for the "Rioters"?
Looking for a set of rules that adaptable for different genres.

Hi Pukka,

As I don't want to 'throw off' the game's balance, the heroes stats are simply those taken from some of the numerous official Survivors. All we do is rename them and rebrand their abilities to tie-in with the super-heroes.

We simply use our favourite A-List super-villains as Fatties for now, so it really is a case of just grabbing the usually larger models and plonking them on the table. My bigger "Heroclix" re-paints, such as Tess-One, are set aside for Abominations etc. We don't use any non-generic figures for walkers/runners, to try and keep is simple and make them instantly recognisable on the tabletop.

None of the rioter have range, even the ones carrying handguns, they're all just normal walkers/runners. We also run a campaign with "Blake's Seven" verses "Aliens" and in that one we simply treat the aliens as toxic walkers/runners and Fatties. The BatReps are on my blog if you're interested in seeing the mechanics in action.
