Modern/Post apocalypse RPG whats out there??

I am trying to find D&D style Role playing game set in a post apocalypse or modern setting.

My wife wants to play RPG with me and the kids but doesn't like the fantasy setting does anyone have any system to play?

I have the D&D 5e PHB, MM, and DMG

but willing to but a new series of books if required. I need something that my kids [9 and 11] could also play.

I would always go Chaosium  Basic Role playing, modern options are Call of Cthulhu with whatever the modern setting book is called now, or the Laundry Files. I cannot remember if Delta Green was also BRPS as well.

Percentile based system, easy to pick up and makes sense.

Chaosiuml licence their system widely.

$60.31NZD and $11.03NZD p&p so not to bad for the GM and PHG for this setting will try and find some reviews on this and see if it fits in with what my Wife is wanting to play.

You could try Mutant: Year Zero or its self contained spinoff Mutant: Year Zero Genlab Alpha. In Mutant: Year Zero you play as mutants and attempt to establish your settlement known as the ARK. Or in Genlab Alpha you play as mutant bipedal animals seeking to form a resistance against the evil robot overlords keeping you within a valley. These are the plot campaigns contained within the book, but you don't have to follow them if you don't want to. There is a free starter book for regular Mutant: Year Zero available on Drivethrurpg. I recommend checking it out. It has a simple d6 dice pool system. Some content may be a little mature, but you could easily leave out some of the more intense stuff.

My gaming group has been playing that, it's pretty fun. One of our longer-running campaigns in fact.

Other Dust by Kevin Crawford. Very much worth checking out.

Billed as an Old School D20 RPG, Other Dust is a sci-fi, post-apoc sandbox that encourages players to explore while keeping it easy for the GM to improvise. The high-tech chrome could easily be dropped, leaving just the wasteland stuff.

LGW, strictly speaking you need Savage Worlds RPG Core Rulebook to run Broken Earth, but BE alone can be used as a great sourcebook for any RPG system.
