Pulp Alley participation at Hammerhead 2017
« on: 24 February 2017, 10:09:11 AM »
Sally 4th will be putting on 'Chaos in Casablanca' at Hammerhead 2017.

Is any one going who would be interested in playing, or helping run the game?

We will also have the full range of Pulp Alley books, cards, dice, dice bags, templates, storage boxes and miniatures together with the complete range of Pulp Era vehicles from Sloppy Jalopy and the complete Pulp Figures range.

Hi Chris, I'm not sure yet if I am going to be there but if I do I would be very keen to play a game.

Are you compiling a schedule of games and players and if so when do think I need to get my name down by.

Cheers John

No need to book, it will be pretty informal.

The plan is to run games with up to 4 cut down leagues containing a Sidekick and two Allies who have been sent by their boss to find any clues that could lead them to a missing relic.

We were really hoping that their might have been someone who was coming along who could help us out for an hour or so, as it'd just Ann and myself running both a game and a trade-stand this time around, so if you are thinking of going, and might be interested in helping us out, do let me know.

Looks fabulous - there must be people keen to get involved in this; I know I would if I was going to the show. Can't wait to see pics of the action on the day. Good luck with it, Chris....

Hi Chris - I've done a bit of research and it looks to be a pretty good show, so fairly certain I will come along.

However I have only used the free - cut down rules a couple of times and that was a while ago, so I have not enough understanding of them to run a game, that is why I am interested in playing.

If there is anything else I can do PM me and we can see what we can work out.

Sorry not to be more help.

Yes, Hammerhead is really one of the top shows in the UK for gaming.
All of the games are participation games, so you can really go and spend a day gaming rather than just looking and buying.

We are thinking at the moment of playing a game at 12:00 and 2:00, if we get a volunteer to help us out, we will fit a third game in as well.

Well we had a blast at Hammerhead on Saturday!

We played two games.
The first with 5 leagues, the second with 4.

A good time was had by all, with some clever use of Fortune cards to push opponents into the perilous terrain!

That's one fun looking game.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Looks great! Seeing it and reading about it, a couple of questions spring to mind. What made you go sidekick plus two allies rather than leader, sidekick, ally? And did you have any issues with a compartmentalised board like isolating characters too much? Just to be clear, the questions are not meant to be a dig at your approach- just interested in how things worked!

I decided to go for a sidekick and three allies for cut-down, multiplayer participation games to reduce the amount of special abilities to make it easier for people who had never seen the system, and quiet often the special abilities get overlooked by beginners anyway. Also wanted the real possibility that sidekick 'leader' would get taken down.

Game did not get compartmentalized, their was a lot of scrapping over plot points in center of table, and some of the less contested ones got overlooked in the excitement.
