Build Something 2017: voting rules
« on: March 04, 2017, 03:02:07 AM »
The long awaited voting for this years Potatoe Cup, or as jimbibbly calls it, the Build Somthing 2017 champion, is about to commence. There is quite a long list of entries, 25 all in all. The range of intepretations of the 'Flight' theme are quite wide, all are unique and one more spectacular than the other. There are indeed going to be some tough choices as contestants have applied some quite serious craft, technique and artistic skills. So, please, if you have not done so already, do the curtesy of persusing the participants' build threads before you cast your votes.

The polls:

Voting is open to all LAF members. I have given each entry a random number an placed them in numerical order in five groups, A to E. You have one week from today Saturday March 4th, noon, to cast your votes in for *one* entry in each group. The winners from each group will then be pitched agains the others in a final voting poll on March 11th, when you will get to vote for the final reciever of the much desired Potatoe Cup.

As always, keep it light, chaps and chapettes. Let the votes do the telling. I will remove all (unlikely) unhelpful comments about the relative qualities of workmanship or artistic vision of the participants.

Bloo-dy hell - it's tough groups alright. And it's only going to get harder next week!

BTW - also hasn't gone unnoticed when you posted these up - so late (or is that early?)! Thanks for your effort again.

A had a bout of insomnia (the residual effect of a previous situation like that of jimbibbly's) and decided tp make something out of it.

Voting on these contests is rather torturous sometimes :)

Well done to Hammers for picking it up at the end, but also to Bibbles for his efforts as well!

Come on people, vote! Out of a membership cadre of several thousand, surely more than a mere one hundred could take a few minutes to show their appreciation of our talented fellow members. Just two days left of the first round!

Hi Chris s (welcome!). The second (and final) round of voting is to be found here:

All of the 2017 Build Something threads can be found here (same link as in the email):

The email was a bit like of European spam though, I agree lol

The impresarios also can't count (7 finalists, not 6).
