AAR: 15th c. Swedish Civil War
« on: March 05, 2017, 03:53:18 PM »
Hi,

I recently posted an AAR on our blog. It depicts an attack on the House of Thott, a Unionist Lord in our ongoing Swedish Civil War campaign, of late 15th century. The game was played using the Lion Rampant rules with 28mm Perry Miniatures.

A full report with alot of pictures can be found here:
http://northern-wargaming.blogspot.se/2017/03/aar-attack-on-house-of-thott-15th.html

Below is a sample.

Hi there.
A lot of nice touches on the table. The church and manor house look good, I like the colour scheme. The sod roofed houses are good, did you scratch build these or buy them.
The field is also good with the furrows at the end of the field making it quite realistic. Nice post
Cheers

Thanks alot for your very kind words!

The buildings are our own take on different modelling kits. We have some details on and pictures of their construction in earlier posts.

The log houses are plastic Pegasus Hobbies buildings with new roofs and changed doors and windows. To get an idea please see WIP pictures here:
http://northern-wargaming.blogspot.se/2012/01/more-log-houses.html?m=0

The church and stone house was a massive project using the same technique for the both of them. They are based on walls etc from 1/72 scale Valdermar miniatures.

The same technique was also used for our castle that can be seen in this "attack on the castle"-AAR, seen here:

Very good looking terrain. Very convincing. You should bring that to Medeltidsveckan in Visby and run a few games. People would be flocking to the table.

Stunning!

It is good to see pre-TYW/Karl XII swedish scenarios!

The environment is very beautiful and looks like 15:th century Sweden as I imagine it. The time period was rife with wars and internal strife and perfect for medieval wargaming.

I have started to build a swedish/danish force respectively to fight the War of Liberation 1521 and other swedish 16:th century wars.

Great game!
