Little Ships Part II
« on: April 01, 2017, 07:11:20 PM »
Continuing the creation of the X-wing scaled Space Fighters.  Several of these will now be incorporated into the 5150 space fighter rules.

Masters fo the first 8 models!  A smattering of various faction fighters and a drop ship.

Close up of the print: All from Shapeways Extreme Detail.

And a couple quick paint ups to scale with a Blue Squad Scarif X-wing:

and more test paints on medium resolution prints created to check the sizing:

Phase II is to send these to get cast in metal.  Then it's off to print the next 8 ships!

Those are gorgeous. I'll be keeping an eye out for when these come up for sale :)

Might there be anything resembling Starfuries from B5 or Hammerheads from Space Above and Beyond? The ones I'm seeing here and previously are cool though, great efforts here.

Have you any plans to release these? With the advent of Star Eagles (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/282429745/star-eagles, it might be great getting more starfighters out there.

Look at part 1 page 1 - the intention is to sell them and if Mr Company of B does so then hopefully I can snaffle a whole bunch :D

Yep..these will be for sale.  Though initially not from CompanyB as this is a personal project...So maybe first on LAF, then from a website when I have a chance to make it.

New print for this just arrived:

So the first 12 ships will go into production next week.

Any further progress?

By the way, I'm sure I've seen discussions of free drawing programs mentioned for a rank beginner to get feet wet; could someone PM with a link if they know of such a thread? I tried the SketchPro route, thinking there was a reduced function something beyond the free trial period, but blocked at every turn.

Desperately do NOT want to hijack the thread!

Aw yis. Those are looking lovely. Please keep us informed. By the way, my British brain struggles to comprehend what heretical form of currency that is re. size but I'm sure I'll work it out. Is it a dime? A dimebar? Daimler...? I'll get my coat
