Thanks fella.

Ok, time to get something in the table….which means I need to show the Stokesay model a little love.   First job is to neutralise the tetrion grass…just used up my pva and sand to get the soil layer down.  This will get painted and flocked like my graveyard pieces excep5 pathways will be simple bare earth.

Whilst this is drying, I may spend a little time sealing the exposed mouse eaten timbres…and filling a few wall damage holes.

Then I need to scour the internet for a variety of climbing ivy….shrub flocks etc to give it interest and to hide a few uncomfortable corner joints, damage sections etc.

Thanks fella…appreciate it!

So, we are half way through renovation.   Grounds are grassed, wall patches have been filled with tetrion/pva/grey paint filler.  These will get smoothed off, maybe painted but most likely covered in ivy / foliage.  Woodwork needs touching up yet. The grounds also need tufts etc to elevate them a bit.

I also spruced up the monotone roof a tad by picking out a few tiles.

Hopefully foliage arrives soon….

Cheers….grass tufts added….main stone damage sorted…..really just waiting to pop ivy / foliage on a few walls.   Looking forward to seeing this set up with church / graveyard !

A few plucky Mancs start to explore the castle….

Nice reno work. No fear of being accused of gentrification with a castle I suppose.

Thanks all….well, it seems my ivy is stuck in the post, so I just added a little climbing shrubbery.  A free standing oak adds a little vibe to it too.   I need to paint the few others I have ( if I can find a glue that actually works with these old plastic trees that it! )

Starting to look a bit more lived in I think….

Now that really makes it pop! The tree is an absolute cracker too.

Maybe a kitchen garden and a fruit tree or two?

John Cunningham (long time friend) used to recomend pin & araldite (epoxy resin) glue.
Back in the day when we couldn't find a glue to hold together our Airfix figure conversions, that was what he recomended.
"Will it work?" I asked him.
"passed the wall test" he replied.
"What's the wall test?"
"When the glue sets...throw the figure at the wall!"   It does work, honest! Though I don't think you should actually do the 'test'.  lol

I read somewhere that Shoe Goo might work so have ordered a tube of that…

Carlos….i very nearly did that but I can always add free standing trees / fruit trees I suppose.  Cheers
