 Herewith Germanic Barbarian with War Hounds. He could, I think look good in a number of different ancient, Dark Age and fantasy armies and I really do like his rather ominous-looking dogs of war...

Those look quite good! The hounds could be used in a few different settings- I can picture them fitting right into a pulp scenario set on some moors, patrolling around the fence of a security facility (which may or may not be on a moor), or in any number of fantasy warbands.
