They look great, beautifully painted! I miss those 4th edition Black Orcs. they seemed to have only been around for a short while... or maybe it was the entire latter half of the 90's- anyone have a series of out of print trade catalogs and an afternoon to waste? Anyway, great job!

I think they had a pretty good 5-6 year run. They were around when I started playing WHFB in 1995, and I think they got replaced when 6th edition came out in 2000 or so.

@Byrthnoth - That makes sense. I think the GW Orc design got considerably beefed up right around 6th edition- I think those black orcs were kind of the apex of the pre-beefsteak orc. I wasn't really picking up Orcs and Goblins back then (aside from the plastics that came in the 4th edition and Warhammer Quest set, which I've finally painted 30 years later), but I remember those guys (the black orcs) being very tempting on my limited spending money.
