Some questions
« on: 26 December 2012, 10:00:03 PM »
Hi all new player here and I just picked up a bunch of cheap 20mm figures from here http://j-m-miniatures.myshopify.com/collections/20mm-ww2 For my schools gaming club. They are plastic, I have never worked with plastic  miniatures and I am wondering if normal superglue will damage the figures or if the it alright to use on plastic miniatures?
Also since I am on a budget are there any websites that tell you how to build 20mm terrain from scratch? Preferably out of cardboard, great thing about younger students is that they can see unmodified cardboard box as a house no problem but I would like to surprise them after Christmas with some better scratch built stuff.
Cheers,
Daniel

If the figures are hard plastic, superglue will work. However, you will not get as solid of a bond as you would using plastic model cement. Eventually the parts will seperate. Check out the "Workbench" section of the forum. In the "How to" area at the top of the page you should be able to find some tutorials on creating inexpensive terrain.

Hi there!
I hope your club has fun with the figures. I'd recommend using plastic model cement.
I'll look about for some free building downloads. I know they're out there.

Here's a few to get you started:

A lot of churches and castles but you could use the textures and recut them.

Dream Pod 9 used to do a nice set of NOrmandy houses but they've pulled those files down.
