My Review of the Wargames Factory Apocalyptic Survivors
« on: 01 May 2013, 10:28:47 PM »
I've had the new set of plastic survivors from Wargames Factory for about a week and have managed to get my first ten painted and based.  I have a detailed write up on my blog, but the short story is that Wargames Factory has made tremendous strides in their digital sculpting over the past three years.  This kit isn't perfect but at $0.55 per figure (US) it's a great value and really fills a needed spot in PA gaming.

Here are some scale shots I did with some other figures that I have based and painted.  Unfortunately my taste in basing has changed over time so the figures aren't at a consistant height, but I think you can still get a good sense for how they compare to other manufacturers.

Oh, I really should get back to that.....but I just got my shipping notice for my second zombicide shipment (nine more figures to paint) aaaaand I finally cracked open my Leviathan kit (so beautiful, but so so big).  I think the warthog will sit there looking at me accusing me for another couple of weeks.   Plus I'll have to ebay some more old minis and model kits to pay for what will probably be at least a $100 pledge to deadzone.

Love the cricket bat. Most useless weapon in real life but a perennial fave of british film none the less.

Trouble with a cricket bat is they break at the point the handle slots into the bat after a few good wacks.

Ha!, just like the plastic version.  I bent it during construction and almost broke it right at the top of the handle.  It should have been at least a quarter or half mil thicker.  Between the Hasslefree not Shaun, the WGF cricket bat guy and another not Shaun coming from Zombicide II this fall, I'll have enough to make a gang of UK ex-pats cruising the streets with cricket bats for my ATZ games.

I just received my survivors box, I'm very pleased  :-* (but I was already pleased with the female zombies, so i'm not that surprised  lol).

A lot of possibilities with that set, especially if you like to use xacto knife, sand paper and green stuff  8)
