Aliens for a fiver
« on: February 16, 2009, 04:25:32 PM »

Been looking for some Aliens.  Saw these heroclix ones for £14.99 in a shop (was tempted) but then got them for £5 at a show at the weekend.  Result!

Just need to get them off those bases and re-paint and they'll be perfick!

Any ideas on best way to remove the bases?  Or is it easier to keep them on and just work on redecorating the base (bit of filler etc.)?

When you absolutely, positively have to kill every motherf****** in the room, accept no substitute.

Might be worth PMing Steders, on Frothers about aliens, as he has just rebased a whole shedload of them, and might be able to give you a few ideas to save you time.

Yeah, I looked at those at Hammerhead too. If I'd had the cash I'd have bought all of them! Unfortunately I deliberately only took enough money to buy what I was going for, so had to pass.

I should have bought the Predators as well.

As well as the Future Wars Rules.

And about 200 other things that caught my eye.

For Clix models I usually just cut them from the base with a knife. If the contact surface is'n't too large they just pop off. Take care niot to cut off their feet though ;)

Will do!  Thanks.

If you need more they're going for around £3.99 a box on ebay currently, the great heroclix collaspe continues.

(Believe me you'll want more!!)

Easy to remove from their bases and will pop out of the columns/pillars with ease!

I heard and tried freezing them first, it worked very well on most of the figures.  Just stick them in your freezer for a bit and they snapped right off the base.  Only one of them snaped off above the ankle but that was easily fixed.

Got any links? I only found one auction that low, the rest was still around retail price. I still want a set or two (maybe three) but not for 2 quid a model ;)
