Gaming - South West Germany?
« on: 31 May 2017, 10:25:14 AM »
Hi All,

Just a quick query. I'm due to relocate to Germany in just over a month and was wondering if any LAFers were from the area or had any gaming or miniature related inside-info on the area. I'll be moving to Karlsruhe (or thereabouts).

I'm excited to be back in 'mainland' Europe and will aim to finally visit Tactica etc., but it would be good to find some like-minded souls in the area.

An infrequent Blog http://small-wars.com

Lived in Heidelberg for a while, which is relatively close by. At the time there were two hobby shops, one (Spielbetrieb) hosting regular events. Once a month (usually the 3rd saturday) a local club, the Kurpfalz Feldherren, are gathering there for a day of gaming. If you can read German, check this site for dates. They are a very welcoming bunch of people, and they may be able to point you to fellow hobbyists/hobby outlets in your new hometown.

Karlsruhe - about 170km away as the (Google) bird flies. Not too bad :-)

Google Maps says it takes two and a half hours if traffic is reasonable so definitely possible.
