I just assumed you'd used plaster with a marble filler !

Great project, great execution (as expected from an artist with your skills), somehow it was under my radar for way too long.

It really itches me to do something similar...   ;)
cheers and keep on gaming, Agis - http://www.adpublishing.de

Really awesome build and painting. Must be cool to game in!
Personally, I would have chosen a darker colour scheme (maybe marbled black?) to make it fit in more with the Dark Eldar aesthetics. But that's just a matter of taste :)

The Dark Eldar Haemonculi have used their dark arts to raise this thread from the dead...

Having played several games now, and ran a few at conventions, I decided to finish out a second team. This allows people to play matched teams and gives two people that want to play the same Wych an option to do so.

There's some notes on conversions etc. on the blog.

Great stuff. I've eyed up some Dark Eldar to do something just like this many a time!

I think it was from Mega Miniatures. I believe the proprietor sold off most if not all his molds to a bunch of companies. I have no idea where it is now. I could use another two though! I really like the look of it, even if it is pretty flat.

Never understood why LAF punishes the GW entries so hard.   Beautiful work on the Wych teams.  Good choice on the clear stands for the arena teams too.

Missed this thread first time around.  Fantastic work, belated congrats on a wonderful job.

Detective mode activated.

Definitely Mega Minis - specifically 0013 Blood Sucking Demon.  Before that they were part of the Hobby Products range, and before that Metal Magic.

Annoyingly, that particular model seems to have been sold to Omni who sold it as OMS0010 Alien Stalker.  Omni is OOB as far as I know.  Good luck finding more, though.

Thanks! Seems like there’s a bias against GW sometimes, I can’t recall what beat the original entry but the opposition was probably decisively better, the photo wasn’t the best. My non-GW have been beaten by GW entries too, so who knows :) The LAF voters are fickle (myself included 😂).

Excellent sleuthing, very interesting!

I may need to modify its profile in game if it’s a bloodsucker :)

Thanks Bloggard, it's been a fun project.

Anyway, here's my last mini of 2018. Honestly I wasn't super excited to paint this one since I don't like the resin Raging Heroes uses, it doesn't accept primer easily and I've tried quite a few brands- washed the resin, let it 'de-gas' for weeks, etc. etc. She was originally just a test mini for priming. About a quarter of the way in I really began to like where it was headed and I really like how she turned out. Not sure what I'll use her for, but I based her to match my Wyches for the Arena of Blood. She may come out when a Wych avoids combat for two rounds or something.

Beautiful paint job Matt.  The painting of her face is really expressive.  Former boy friend perhaps?
