Those look great. The rat pelts are a fantastic touch.

Fantastic work on those Goliaths.

The conversions are great but I am particularly impressed with the paint scheme. Very nicely done :) ... dark colors suit these very well.

Thanks all, appreciated. I have Cawdor and Orlocks on tap, trying to decide which to tackle first.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

Re: Dr Mathias's Warhammer 40K Thread - Gelida - Mech and Pilot
« Reply #69 on: 03 February 2019, 03:41:57 AM »
After seeing this cool thread by Blasphemia Blackwood, I was inspired to make a mech and pilot myself. I hadn't done snow effects before, so it was pretty fun.

Ventor Tentyritæ is one of the last surviving members of the once prosperous Tentyritæ family. The family was the foremost supplier of Gelidan animals to wealthy offworld clients looking for exotic specimens. It was said that numerous xenos beasts supplied by House Tentyritæ made their way to the Necromundan Hive Primus, destined for the laboratories of House Escher or Spire menageries, and rumor has it that some beasts were even seen in the fighting arenas of Commorragh.
After Gelida was cut off from the Imperium, Tentyritæ's patronage disappeared and their fortunes fell drastically...

I see this as a sort of spinoff from the 40K Xeno beast hunter group I painted several months ago.

Great work on the Goliaths! :-* I've never been a fan of the models, but you've changed my mind on them.

The pain ting is just perfect on that sentinel and pilot! :o Can I ask how you did the face? The skin tone is great!

I seem to have missed the last few updates on this post, so it was a happy surprise rediscovering it.  As ever, some cracking painting going on.  Is the mech pilot a conversion of the objective Aquilla Shuttle pilot figure from one of the 40K starter sets from way back?
