I think the helmet size looks right for an ARVN trooper too.  The M1 helmet and its liner came in one size.  the leather head band and harness was adjustable. On a small person (nationality regardless, but like the average Vietnamese), teh M1 helmet would look big like that.

But, as they say, to each their own!

In my case, that chap, as well as some other of your ARVNs, may just end up as members of the Guardia Nacional Del Perdomo (the GNP).  EL Perdomo is my fictional central American country (nestled snugly between Panama and Costa Rica), with games set in 1989.

I'm inclined to agree. Depending on the size of wearer and how they set up the liner it can look huge or tiny. Leaving aside the more diminutive size of the average Vietnamese wearer I've seen photos of WW2 GIs where the wearer appears to be swimming in the damn thing.

It's a toy, so YMMV.

Jim is on a similar track to me, although I'm primarily look at Salvadorean, Honduran and Guatemalan troops.

mines Dad was a Major in the ARVN...ended
up owning a string of Fish and Chip shops in
Ireland (Eire). :o :-*..after just getting out just

Actually ran the figure by him...as i had
six helmets made and picked the perfect one.....
he said it was faultless..Happy with that so pressed

I think the helmet size is spot-on. I’ve read French accounts, describing Vietnamese troopers as looking like “ambulance mushrooms under their heavy helmets”
