Good to see the old Essex miniatures. Like the heraldry.
Ta Golgotha. I too have a fondness for (most) Essex figures. I really never
warmed to the Fantasy figures.

Today we have what work I've completed on my Wild West/Mexican Revolution train.
These were mainly Christmas Trains from e-bay. More on the work bench.

Your wish is my command.
I had a fair amount of work to do to the driver's cab area.
1) Saw away the VERY noticeable battery compartment.
2) Remove the controls 'wall' , which was at the very back of the cab, I mean, where
do the driver & fireman stand????
3) Jury rig it into a new position & create a cab.

The wagon was a broken toy from a charity shop. I repaired it & sourced four wheels
(don't look too closely, they are two different pairs) build new, wider, axels...
oh & paint it.

Well, after all the above work, I do have a Tender behind. 8)

For anyone who might be interested, this is a link to my entry in
the 2023 make something competition. For the third year in a row
I have entered (& for the third year in a row I didn't get past the
first round)
 >:(
Ah well, always next year. I am used to such things, I am a Pompey
(Portsmouth FC) fan after all.
 :)

From Poundland's  Prehistoric range.
Bent its legs backward, as if it was in flight.
Thin black wash.
Off white drybrush & mounted on an old flight base that had been
sitting on the workbench for quite a while.

Could get an outing :-
With some Cavemen I have,
Pulp games in Darkest Africa, Amazon etc.
On an Alien planet (Galactic Heroes)
or maybe
on Casevil, perhaps those local legends of a gigantic flying monster were true!!!!!

I  always like seeing toys repurposed as miniatures.
I find that they get more playing time as such than as toys. Well  I guess they're both technically gaming pieces.

You did an excellent job. How did you bend the legs? Heat gun? Hot water? Or where they cut and reglued?

Hot water, boiling hot, then 'set' with a dunk in cold water.
