And finally some new shields on the unit with funny hand weapon-thingies. Now two Azande units are ready to fight. Btw, the boys with spears were participating in the LPL, I've posted them here just to complete this Azande thread.

Next Azande round will bring some rifles.

Gorgeous figure painting, Alex. The shields are just superb.

Next year, bring them to GLAM! (Better still, bring them to BLAM this year!  ;))

Outstanding work! I agree 100% about the work on the shields. I particularly like the funny face design on the figure in the first pic  lol

I tried something similar with a couple of my Azande, but they didn't turn out tht good.

You have lovely figures, realistic African terrain and the best colonial rules to play with. What more could you want?  ;)

What do you use for the long grass? Because I need to make some. I bought some plastic aquarium grass mat and it's not really what I had in mind...  ::)

the long grass is made by Grimm :) I guess he did use a sort of greenish aqaurium grass (shorter and thicker ones) and  something like that Ziterdes Feldgras beige:
