Thank you. It is free hand. I did the shields for an entire 15mm ancient Greek army. So I do have some experience.

And an unlimited amount of patience apparently too! GOSH that's a lot of tiny shields!

This weekend I painted goblins. They're by Artizan Miniatures and I really like them. My mission now, is to get more from other manufacturers. I like this "fairy tale" style. If anyone can make any recommendations they'll be very welcome.

Here's some pics but there are many more on my blog at: https://this28mmlife.blogspot.com/2020/02/a-buggle-of-goblins.html

Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Swordisdrawn & dadlamassu ~ Thank you.

I made a bunch of satyrs from Eureka Miniatures. These are really nice figures that I found pretty easy to paint. I painted far more figures than appear in this pic and there's more pics on my blog @: https://this28mmlife.blogspot.com/2020/02/thinking-about-vanilla-and-satyrs.html

The posting on my blog also includes my ranting about trying to find a set of fantasy rules that suit me perfectly (like that's gonna happen!).

Northumbrian Tin Soldier does some whimsical bits? Oakbound Studios perhaps too?

nice job on the artizan goblins and the satyrs.

I too like the more whimsical, 'folk tale', some vendors are putting into their fantasy lines now.

Some lovely painting in this thread - and your method (or wherever the mood takes you) is working. Will follow with interest.

Does anybody know what these fellas are called or where to find them on the eureka website? I’ve been after some since they first showed off the greens a couple of years ago but never seen them for sale?

Came to ask the same question, even trawled through the last couple of years of their facebook posts but can't find them on the store at all. :(

They're not officially up, but they are for sale.

As per the comments on the Facebook post:

Yes. I've had a look. I have to consider postage to Australia so I need to shop and pick carefully before making any commitment.

Thanks. They are great figures. I did have one and couldn't remember where he came from. But I was reminded by Michal and DwarfCrypt.

Regarding those fae/fairies/pixies or whatever they're called - I'm lucky that I can drop in and buy them over the counter. But, as you mentioned, it's just a matter of dropping an email to Nic at Eureka.

Fantastic painting on the satyrs.   As for your ongoing search for a fantasy game... have you looked at the Oathmark Campaign thread on LAF or the Osprey blog?  That game seems to have a slightly different take on the way the armies are compiled.

Of course you could just house - rule an existing game to allow various troops across racial types while using  the same familiar mechanics.
Painted:  2025:539; 2024: 410; 2023: 37; 2022: 56

A bit of a slowdown in the painting whilst I made plastic Oathmark Elves. But I have been getting in some painting time and managed to get this lot done.

The centaurs mean that I now have a cavalry element for my Dragon Rampant army which I've now decided to call The Army of The King of Elfland. The other figures are for Frostgrave and Rangers of Shadow Deep.

As usual there'smore photo's on my blog at: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com/2020/02/spooky-and-hairy-bit-of-mix.html
