Friday 27th November Afternoon:Well had a little free time over at my mate's so finished off the board and built the mall front.
Board edges:
I wanted to have that landscaped look that you get at shopping centres so went for a grass paving combo:

(The idea is to put trees on the grass, using Geronimo's new recessed DS resin bases, great for solid based figures but also great for that tree planted with a stone edging around it on the street or in a landscaped area).
I also managed to finish the paving where the mall entrance was to go:

All looking good, bags of time so onto the mall:
Mall Entrance:Armed with my trusty metal ruler, 5mm black foamcore, three sheets of mall exterior from the worldworks mega mayhem mall pack I set to work.
First things first, I cut out the mall sections with a scapel and worked out the overall shape for the board, (added folds and angles as appropriate):

From the template layout I then went about cutting the foamcore to size, (basically aiming to create a solid structure, representing Entrance 3 of the Lion's Mall Shopping Centre.

Each piece was cut and then stuck to the card facade, right angles were pinned square and the whole piece was built as a series of solid compartments to ensure strength.

Once complete, (sans roof at present but this will be completed at a later stage):

Noted that it looked great, but there were two big white squares were cardboard doors were to go which looked a little naf....
So, taking inspiration from game two out came the plasticard and plasti-rod and tada!
Shutters:

(The lion statues only arrived Wed night so no time to paint before use).

Really please with the way this has come out. Great entrance and hints at the contents of the next board for me to work on!

Also considering putting a diner in to the right of the entrance (as you're looking at it) Think that would look quite groovy. Got a cash machine I need to dig out that will need mounting to the wall too!
Anyway enjoy.
