Things are starting to get interesting...

(Been a while sorry and the mind's a bit fuzzy but):

Both squads make a run for the helo at the medical centre, by the time squad Theta make it through to the centre they are down to two men, Alpha has 4 but one is wounded and is bitten again during close combat through the centre and up the floors to the roof. A string of red cards brings the troopers to the rooftop heli-pad.

The helo is fired up and squad Alpha begins to load up... then.

Disaster: black cards and bad dice rolls mean that zeds are drawn to the noise of the chopper:

The remains of Theta become bogged down in the building with more and more zeds moving in.

Alpha manage the clear the zeds from the pad but it's too late for Theta, who go down fighting while the zeds do the biting! :D

(we agreed that it would take 3 turns to get the chopper clear of this sector of the town).

1st card....red.
2nd card....red.
3rd card.....BLACK

 :o

Trooper Jenkins fails his roll and turns in the chopper!! :o

LT Harris pulls his desert eagle from it's holster and blammo! Straight through the head. He pushes open the door and kicks the limp body out of the chopper onto the gathering hordes below.

Outcome:

Three troopers made it out alive. Great game as ever and very intense towards the end.

The Commander ;)

Now water can flow....or water can crash...be water my friend.

Looks like a great game all around!

Don't you love climatic endings!

BTW, whats the scale of that helicopter?  The 1/48th ones I've found seem too darn small....

Added the Tengu zeds to my collection, yet to paint but bloody nice sculpts and perfect casts. Good to get some nudies too!  :o  :D

However failed miserably to complete anything Zeddy and currently sucked into my aliens project, but you know zombies, always rear their ugly heads when you least expect it! ;)

Studio miniatures hospital & kiddie zeds arrived last week. Will be playing again in two weeks time so will probably turn my hand to all things zeddy over the bank holiday.

You can find foamboard in art- and office supply shops here in sweden. Not exactly cheap but affordable.

I get mine from a picture framer, much cheaper than from the office supply shop. That might be relevant information for you.

I only just now noticed this thread. Yes, I do lead a rather oblivious life, why did you ask?  :)

The cool part was I just saw my first Zombie Walk. Okay, lead up to; I missed the festivities.

However, at the staging area, while people were getting made up, my store had a booth for drop in game play. Naturally, Zombie Dice, Zombie Fluxx, and especially Last Night on Earth were in constant play.

I'd dug out a copy of Mall Madness to make a Dawn of the Dead board, an idea I've seen used before, but I never got it together. Next year and all that.

However, this thread has caused me to set my sights MUCH higher.

Thanks!

Doug

PS Seeing the rehearsals for the Thriller line dancing, with participants in awesome zombie makeup, was truly a hoot!

Great looking boards, and an intersting selection of battle reports. Keep up the good work.  :) :)

LT Harris is a stout man. I hope he would do the same to me if I happen to get bitten.

Trooper Jenkins... God rest his soul.

Love the Helicopter. Is it 1/43 scale?
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity.
