The Gentlemen of Much-Piddling
« on: 22 July 2020, 11:27:19 AM »
After much dilatoriness, procrastination, apathy, inertia, dormancy and lethargy, Doug ex-em4, Vagabond and myself have applied some deliberation, pontification, consultation, cogitation and confabulation to the naming of our little group of friends and wargamers.

We have all been members of this forum for some time but thought it would nice to announce the new title of our gaming group.

We are henceforth to be known as:

The Gentlemen of Much-Piddling

The Gentlemen of Much-Piddling provides a collective and collocative title for the foibles, pettifogging, quirks, idiosyncranicities, waffling and hyperbole of three charming, sophisticated and erudite gentlemen of distinction, who rise above the hoi-polloi and riff-raff to bring a touch of style and class to wargaming.

This is our new logo and we have adopted Rudyard Kipling's famous quote as our motto.

Is there really such a place? I ask since I use Much Piddling in the Marsh as a default town name for ECW actions. Hoi polloi living there complain at great length, but should think of the tourist revenue in future ages.
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Splendid.
Along with that WW1 battlefield that I too once had the pleasure of playing on  :)
Carry on Piddling.

I feel a bit like a water skier being towed along by a motor boat driven by a pair of madmen.

"Where too next" I hear one shout to the other. "Oh what about Niagra we can see if Vagabond is able to jump the water fall". "That's a spiffing idea" they shout in unison, and we're off.

Oh well, it'll be an interesting ride.   o_o o_o lol lol

Excellent! I do hope the Gentlemen keep up with their very entertaining threads on the Pulp Board?

That WWI table is excellent isn't it? Except when you end up drawing the game because it's so realistic that you've left men in the basements during the evacuation!

While visiting Bovington Tank Museum I saw a sign that extolled
the local beer, 'We use real Piddle in our Ale'.
