Hi everyone! Working on adding some pics from our last game with a mini battle report, but in the meantime here are some pics of the newest additions to my collection, straight off my workbench!

Here is the Kappa warband ready to munch on some shirikodama (google, if you dare!), which I'll likely be expanding sometime in the future! They can serve alongside the Wako pirates as a river-based threat, or on their own (Ronin has its own stats for them). This time the Japanese is real, with the flag reading as "water tigers" and the drum reading as "river child", both traditional names for Kappa. Next on the workbench are a pair of Oni to bring the total up to 3, and then I may start working on a few more water based monsters to serve alongside the Kappa. Let me know what you think!

The bamboo spears are fantastic.  And the tiny script on the drumhead, so skillfully picked out.  Bravo.

Those look fantastic.  Although I cannot help think about having an exposed weakness of your brain open to the air :)

Thanks for the kind words everyone! Next up on the work bench are a few more Oni so I can participate in a game of Dragon Rampant.

Haha, as I understand it the Kappa head bowls contain water from the river the Kappa was born in (rather than a direct route to their neural functions), so if that happens to spill out in the course of battle they are compelled to run back to their river to refill. Fun fodder for some unit specific rules, I think!

Hi everyone, in the spirit of Halloween I've finished up a couple more Oni (very characterful old Valiant L5R sculpts) to round out a Ronin Oni warband, and to allow me to have a 3 model unit for an upcoming game of Dragon Rampant I'll be participating in! Let me know what you think! I

'm going to have to decide what I'll work on next, I have some undead samurai on the workbench, but I'd also like to actually finish a Bushi warband or two (I don't have very many TRUE samurai at the moment, mostly just the bandits and sohei!).

Love the colorful, scavenged and repurposed armor on these big brutes - as well as their skin tones.
