Good call on the gloss for the aliens. I have some in my painting future...one day, I'm sure!  lol

Thanks! No doubt I could have spent more time and made them look a little better, but for a horde this works for me.  This was quick work.

Motorcycle Cop: “Whatcha got in the trunk?”
Parnell: “Oh… You don’t wanna look in there.”

The 1984 classic, Repo Man, features a green glowing 1964 Chevy Malibu with perhaps radiated alien bodies in the trunk. Though it’s not fully revealed in the movie what’s in the trunk, alien bodies fit perfect with my Roswell ’98 setting.

Greenlight’s 1:64 line is my default for all vehicles on this long running project, but I couldn’t find a ’64 Chevy Malibu. What they do offer though is a ’73 Chevy Malibu from the movie Drive. Drive is also a classic flick and another, along with Repo Man, that I rank very highly. Both have banging soundtracks as well. So, I thought it’d be cool to have a not-Repo Man car using the car from Drive. It’s close enough.

I plan on using the Malibu as an objective piece in my R98 games. If the trunk opened, I’d probably have dropped a Rebel alien body in it, but here we’ve got aliens and smugglers in a standoff over whatever’s in the trunk of the Malibu.

Life in Roswell ’98 is always intense!

Thanks!
I attempted to use the same color scheme I used on some spectral fantasy models to try and give the green glow effect. A higher percentage of the Malibu is flat surface, so I don't think the result looks as good, but good enough!

Not too much to say about these pieces. I’ve had these 6-7 pieces of 3D printed scatter terrain for about a year. Terrain is always kinda tricky because it seems less useful to paint than, say, character models, but it actually impacts the table so much more. I’m always really pleased after knocking some out.

These were done quickly in a day. Zenithal primed then painted with a very limited palette of Citadel Contrast paints. After the colors dried, I washed the entire pieces in Seraphim Sepia to mute the colors and give everything a light grime. I tend to prefer my terrain to be a little more dull in color than my models, so that the models stand out from the terrain on the table top.

I mix in scatter and other terrain to liven things up for me, from time to time. When I begin to get tired of painting figs, I switch to the scatter or a building model.  lol

Love the colors, and these are some cool pieces!

One of my favourite films. :-* :-* Actually dug it out theother day when I discovered we still had a working DVD player.

@carlos marighela - yeah, I'm a big fan of Repo Man myself. This was a fun little idea I had kicking around for awhile. I just hadn't had the time to get to it until recently.

@CapnJim and @mikedemana thanks for the kind words! Terrain is a nice break from character models. I feel a bit more free to be a little more sloppy and go for speed. I'm not the best painter anyway, and terrain gives me the opportunity to be pretty loose and not feel bad about it.

In fact, I went ahead and knocked out two shacks in similar schemes this weekend. They took about 2-2.5hrs total.

I've got 3-4 other bulding/scatter terrain pieces to work on and as I'm in a groove with these, I'll probably continue on with terrain for a bit.

Wow - that's quite the setup so far, and will only get better the more of this kind of thing you add!!  :o

This all looks pretty spectacular,  well done.

I find that genetic scenery gets more table time than most of my figures even if it's not as highly regarded. You'll only have a few gangs in each game, but the rocks will be in most games.

Great point. I'll probably do up 4-5 more terrain pieces here in the near future. At some point, I want to call it _done_ though and focus more on getting in games. i dunno if "done" ever really happens in this hobby though. ha!

You've some lovely pieces of terrain; I must admit I'm a bit jealous.
