Cheers, it's a pretty simple technique tbf, it needed to be with 16 of them to paint...

I used a pin vice to drill into the body to make more room for the tail to join. Then I used some green putty to secure the tail in place. After painting up you can notice anything was added to reinforce the tail. I think this has helped somewhat.

Cheers chaps, I'm not having an issue with the tails, I used liquid polystyrene cement and it is strong enough to hold the tail after drying for a long while.

Alien pics -

Here are photos of some of my painted Aliens. I modified the tails. I heated heated small pot of water, then held the tail in the water until the tail was soft; then gently reshaped it. Wanted to add more variety to the poses.

In the one photo I circled where I used the green stuff to add additional "strength" to the tail. You can't really notice it after painting.
