Today, it's modern US police.  First 3 pics are patrol officers and their rides.  These officers are all Crooked Dice 28mm.  Great figs.  5 packs, 4 figs each.  One pack each armed with pistols, shotguns, patrol rifles, batons, and bolt action rifles (SMLE's though - an odd choice for US police...).  Each pack comes with enough heads to outfit each officer with either traditional "bus-driver" hats, "Smoky-the-Bear" hats, baseball caps, or bare heads.  Even female officers are included.  These are great figs!  Vehicles are 1/43 PD cars (just a bit big, but they work for us...)  Anyhoo, I have done 3 different generic departments, as our "cops-n-robbers" games will be set in a small town somewhere, and that will involve multiple departments responding through mutual aid.

The next 2 pics are the County's SWAT team.  They are older Steve Jackson Games Special Ops figs, but they work out quite nicely for a SWAT team.  Outfitted just right - a leader, a breacher with a ram, a sniper, and 3 team members.  All but the breacher and sniper are armed with H&K MP5s.  The breacher has a shotgun slung on his back, and the sniper has (Surprise!) a scoped rifle.  One of the MP5-armed team-members has a flash-bang grenade readied.  These figs are OK, sculpt-wise, but they painted up decently enough.
The vehicle is a Solido Cadillac-Gage V100, kitted out in Police livery (I plan to doll it up just a bit).

Enjoy!

I am working on MOFO Miniatures modern African militia.  Hope to have them done sometime next week.  Pics to follow soon after that, of course....

I look forward to getting a chance to see them in action at one of the area conventions, Jim! Those are looking great. Your last scenario we played at Drums was a blast!

Nice work, I like your choice to depict different police departments.  I have those Crooked Dice police in my very long paint queue.

Nice work, I like your choice to depict different police departments.

On my first visit to the USA, (As part of the SK 'On Tour') we were
at a small town (Stanton Virginia). In the first week we were
putting on displays, not getting our hire cars until week two, so
when we found out the shopping mall was only a mile away,
we walked. I never knew a small town could have soooo many
different types of Law Enforcement Officers. Three times we were
stopped for something called, 'Jay walking'. They were all VERY
nice to us. :D

Thanks!  Appreciate it.

Yep.  And the smaller the town, the more likely it is that phenomena plays out.

And now for some more figs.  These are MOFO Modern Africa Militia.  The first fella is their fearless leader.  Then shots of the 2 "squads".  Then the whole bunch together.  Enjoy!
