Great AAR.

Thanks!

Yep - Fistful of Lead (the core rules), with the vehicle rules from Galactic Heroes.

The only real changes we make are to the ranges/distances/etc.  We've been using extended weapons ranges/movement distances/command ranges in our last several games of the Fistful of Lead stable of rules.  Here are the ones we used for this last game.  The movements for the BTR and civilian cars were adjusted similarly, as well.  We think they've been working out quite nicely.

We also had the scenario rule about capturing folks (that was in the Scenario Info).

The only other tweak was an in-game decision we made.  When the BTR was hit with that first RPG shot from that rooftop, the Damage Table result was "Control Check", which requires a roll by the driver on the Control Chart.  However, the driver was out fetching one of his downed comrades (thus not in the vehicle), so we decided that one of the occupants would take a shock result in lieu of doing a Control Check.  At that point, the only occupants were the BTR's gunner and the prisoner.  The gunner drew the short straw, so to speak.  Thus, in his next activation, he tried to Recover and rolled that dreaded "1" - which made him bug out...

Other than those, it was pretty much by the book.

From Wiley Games.  They have a whole stable of rulesets with Fistful of Lead.  We've used them for all manner of periods and genres...

Apologies for the tardiness CapnJim Sir! I just had a catch up on this thread and it's such good fun stuff, wonderful pictures and cracking stories!  lol

I agree, Dimitri should get a medal of some sorts for his heroic actions!!!

Regards,

Legionnaire.

Cool.  We really like those rules (as you can probably tell from my AARs... 8)).  With what you've got coming, you can do small skirmishes, as figures are activated individually (including vehicle crew members).

If you end up liking them, and want to upscale a level, Fistful of Lead: Bigger Battles activates groups of soldiers (a fire team or a vehicle, for example) at a time.  Think the level of such games as Chain of Command, etc.

I'll add that to the list as well.

A great game, and pretty intense. I agree: Dimitri deserves a medal, although sadly he's more likely to be reprimanded because... reasons.

Once you get the rules, and play them, i'd be interested in hearing (reading, really...) what you think.

Thanks.  Not sure what happened to Dimitri after they got back. It's all hush-hush now...

Glad FfoL is working out for you. The ranges, etc are meant to be tweaked for your individual genres. And yes, Ready can come in handy in the right situations.
commisarmoody, there's plenty of game examples on Wiley Games YouTube channel. We just did a playthrough with a modern Imagi-Nations game.

This topic is sorely tempting me to break out the modern (well, it was modern 20 years ago) stuff I?ve got and set-up an imagination campaign. Like I need a new project?!

I?m blaming you, Capn Jim?.. ;)
