Thank you! Some cavalry would probably look good, but I had been planning to keep this force infantry and artillery only to contrast with the cavalry heavy Malakal force.

I could get some more Perry WotR light cav though, it's such a lovely kit....

Played a small solo game here at home. Rolled up Skirmish Line deployment, which meant half of each force started in reserve. Objective was Let rest the Dead, so five objectives which each had four Gore on them. Remove the Gore to earn VP.

It was a bloody engagement, and I made mistakes with cavalry rules, some errors with nerve tests which meant mass desertion in Turn 4 and played the Focus order wrong. Lessons learned for next time. The system is solid, I like alternating activations and it's cool to see a modern take on Psychology rules after ages of playing games without them.

Photo conditions in my living room are quite poor, but still:

Looking good

Glad to hear the rules play well. Any first game always has some mistakes, more so if you are playing solo and don’t have another person to pick up on some of the errors.

Sure, here he is:

Would work nicely as a man at arms as well I think.

Got to play a game today against a real opponent. We used my two 275 pt forces from the test game above, but it was definitely a different thing. My opponent made good use of his arcanists, had some great crits with his line infantry but also blew up his cannon. My attacks varied between bad and average, but my cavalry pushing the battle line to his side meant he took more damage from gore and stress in the nerve phase.

Really impressed with the game so far. Different to many other ganes I have played.

Cool, glad that you got a game in, and that Sludge plays well.

I’m kind of stalled on a second force.

We were really quite pleased, I've built two asymmetric forces - one with foot knights, schock troops and artillery, and the other with quite a lot of cavalry for a small game, but at least this game the forces felt nicely balanced with each other. Looking forward to playing again, hopefully at 350 pts.

A small update to this as well. I grabbed some of Gripping Beast's witch hunter themed models for SAGA Age of Magic, but on a whim decided that the hangunners would make good jägers for my Sludge force. This is what they ended up looking like:

This officer also got painted up and will be used as an Officer (imagine that!)

What do you think?

Those are very nice - big hats are always cool. Are these metals?

Yep, all single piece casts. I swapped in a couple of Perry heads, but the big hats are in the original pack.

love the left hand pistol/hand weapon combo

was that from a kit? I've been looking for flintlocks in hand for various conversions with little luck
On the lookout for 10mm Magister Militum Fantasy figures, halflings and woodelves in particular
