My Guard's Guard Frostgrave Warband
« on: July 01, 2021, 12:20:38 PM »

I've spent the morning putting together a Frostgrave warband based on the miniatures from the Guard's Guard kickstarter

Wizard, apprentice and animated construct. Ridcully has taken Rincewind under his wing and is hoping to bring him on a bit. I'm not sure if Rincewind is running into trouble or away from danger, only time will tell.

I've decided that magic from Wizards of the Unseen University is either big complicated rituals carried out over time in the background or is immediate, loud and straightforward. For this reason, I've made Ridcully an Elementalist and given him Element Bolt, Element Ball and Destructive Sphere as his core spells. That should teach them... failing that, it's a double tap with the trusty crossbow.

Fantastic!

Although I can't help but think that a wooden chest with hundreds of little legs would make a great construct.

The effectively infinite armor, health and fight values might be a bit unbalancing as a warband member.  Fine custom random encounter critter, though.  :)

As the meme goes, why not both?

Just a quick update to let you know that the Guard's Guard Kickstarter closes in around four hours, so if you are interested in taking a look the link is: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blackstone/guards-guard

Superb! Though I might have thrown an animal based spell in there, to reflect Ridcully being a riff on Radagast.
