Wow, it does look good indeed. Nice find!

By the way, I have just finished the Old Glory brigantine and I will soon upload a review and photos of the model on my blog.

Great project! Are you aware that a couple of the Leatherstocking Tales involve F&I boating action? In "The Deerslayer" there is a large log raft with a cabin built atop it and "The Pathfinder" involves a British sloop (the Scud IIRC), a larger French counterpart, and a secret island outpost. Both are great for scenario ideas.

Cooper isn't everyones cup of tea, to be sure. I love his work though. He did a stint in the US Navy prior to his writing career and I think that is why two of his wilderness stories have such important nautical themes.

I forgot to mention that the floating cabin is owned by a former high-seas pirate!

This looks like another one the great threads to follow on this site.

Can't wait to see the finished ship (and crew?)

Thanks.   :)

Crew will also follow idc. They'll probably be in 1750-1765 civilian rather than military attire so that I can use the ship as either a privateer, transport, or supply ship for both the British and the French (or possibly even as independent pirates) operating off of NE America/Canada.

Whoa, missed this one.

Looking good  :)

You know what you want to do is get everything together for a 'family' photo, might take a bit of work with the amount of stuff you have but it would be good to see everything together.

cheers

It really is moving along. I've been wanting to expand my collection to cover Pontiac's Rebellion and there were two small vessels like this plying Lake Erie in support of Detroit. If I ever get caught up enough to do it I'll be using this for inspiration!

I love your topics Silent Invader.  Your projects, figures and ideas are all top notch.  F&IW is one of the few areas I have never done and your great pojects have really got me thinking of joining in the fun.  What rules do you like the most and what figure companies do you prefer?
Thanks, Prof

I'm looking forward to seeing your progress SI. I watched the 1996 version recently which featured a few scenes involving a ship on a lake.

Splendid work, how much rigging are you going to be putting on and you must pardon my ignorance but what does 'idc' mean?

cheers

Your attention to detail blows me away.  :o

Having tried something like this, I am very impressed with your sloop.

Love the nest. Can't wait to see her painted.

Well Done!
