After-Action Report: Black Ops 100pts - Mission A "Encounter"
Forces:
US Rangers (Opponent)
Deniable Operators (Mine)
Terrain: The VillageThe battlefield was a small village featuring a single enclosed homestead consisting of two buildings and a surrounding fence. The buildings were integrated into the fence, meaning there was only one gated entrance to the courtyard and another access point through the larger house. Across the street, there was a shed with an open yard containing stacked crates on pallets. Another smaller building stood adjacent to the road. The area surrounding these structures was covered in trees and bushes. The narrative setup for the battle was that this village was the base of an arms dealer, who fled before the conflict, leaving both forces to engage in a fight to secure the weapons.

Game Summary:
At the beginning of the game, the US Rangers took control of the area around the shed and the crate-filled yard. Meanwhile, I attempted to take the enclosed homestead from the opposite side. However, I lost two crucial turns trying to breach the door of a building at the edge of the compound. Eventually, I managed to gain entry, reaching the interior, but another set of doors led to the enclosed courtyard where more crates were located. Realizing that forcing another door would waste more time, I left one operator inside for security and moved the rest of my team around the fence.
Apart from the homestead team, I had two snipers positioned in the bushes near the homestead?s wall, covering the open yard and the shed on the opposite side of the street. I also deployed two additional operators across the road, one armed with a GPMG.
The Rangers focused on securing the crate-filled yard and committed a smaller force to approach the homestead. My operator inside barricaded himself with a table, preparing for any potential breach, while the rest of my team in the courtyard watched the fence in case of an enemy push. However, the Rangers avoided vaulting over the fence into my operators' line of fire and instead attempted a flanking maneuver to engage my snipers.
Seeing this, I repositioned my courtyard team to fire upon the yard. A prolonged exchange of gunfire erupted, with little effect at first. My GPMG operator attempted to neutralize a Ranger covering the flank of the crate yard, but despite his efforts, he failed miserably - rolling four ones on the hit check. However, my operators eventually managed to hit the Rangers stationed in the yard. The Rangers responded by sending reinforcements to assist their wounded, but they too were taken down in the firefight. With no active shooters left in the yard, my two operators across the road advanced and secured the wounded Rangers.
At the homestead, the Rangers managed to take out one of my snipers but lost two of their own in the process. Given the mounting casualties, we decided that continuing the fight was no longer viable, and the Rangers surrendered.
