Five Leagues from the Borderlands - The Gentlemen of Much-Piddling

Thankfully, I read my pre-publication copy of Thorvald’s tale already fortified by my evenings g&t or I may have been driven, paradoxically, to drink. A dark and unsettling account indeed of a young man’s journey to adulthood. It may not be a surprise to learn that the author of this excellent but grim story is from Yorkshire. In case there’s any doubt, the final sentence of his story is complete confirmation.

I agree wholeheartedly! Your addiction to Cucumis Sativus results in unbearable and noisome flatulence, along with the accompanying malodourous and virulent pernicious atmosphere in our dilapidated and cramped accommodation in the Pilchard Inne. However, needs must and until we have more coin, we must suffer the ill-effects of a shared room. We must sally forth soon, to earn the necessary gold marks to free our Compagnye from this odoriferous  and chock-a-block billet!

Me too and without giving too much away, looking forward to our first encounter next Wednesday.

We managed to gain a contract (more of that when I update the campaign log) to clear out a camp of Dust Hounds, so I painted some yesterday. All set for our first encounter on Wednesday coming.

Fierce and highly aggressive canines, packs of Dust Hounds prowl the land, looking for prey. While normally they would not attack a group of Humans, it seems the dark whispers in the foggy forests affect them too.

I told you not to close your shed door when using contact adhesives, next time try and get some more ventilation in there. 

Vagabond the Cheerful is looking forward to being entertained by the exploits of our happy band of brothers in his corporal absence and hopes against hope that his Avatar, Thorvald the Skald survives the intervening weeks until Body and Avatar are joined as one again.

Despite members of the Compagnye spreading slanderous rumours about his responsibility for the malodorous miasmas afflicting the lodging, he knows full well that the actual cause is the experimentations with pig dung and horse urine of the mystic Tiffany.

Definitely would like to see your battle board with your photos. Good to see how well clear bases work with fantasy mini's.

So I'm guessing Wednesday's game will be with friends? I like solo, since I can reuse the mini's and setup for more than one game. Maybe send in a solo warband to scout out how dangerous the doggies are?

I'm keen on the social aspect of gaming, so I play 5L with my gaming chum and we split control of the war band between us, playing co-op rather than solo. So far it has been the most fun I've had in gaming for years.

ced1106, it will be, but it will be via Google Meet. The three of us in our little group (The Gentlemen of Much-Piddling) live quite some distance apart. We do meet face-to-face, but only about once a year. So we decided to have a weekly on-line session. 5LftB seems to fit the bill very nicely.

I'm keen on the social aspect of gaming, so I play 5L with my gaming chum and we split control of the war band between us, playing co-op rather than solo.

We are going to control two characters each. We are also keen on the social aspects, but as explained above, we can't do it as often as we would like.
