Three new Victrix releases for 12mm
« on: July 06, 2023, 04:51:50 PM »
Today I picked up the latest 3 Victrix releases for their 1/144 (12mm) WWII range.

Anti tank guns and the SU 76

I have put a bit more info up on the blog. LINK

These look good kits - I’m a bit torn with the Victrix 12mm stuff - they are undoubtedly good models with lots of detail, but I hesitate to buy them. I think for a few reasons, the pack sizes are quite big, the price point is fairly high (especially for a big pack), and I think I have been spoiled by PSC kits with many options, but it is good to see some more options on these kits with different crew figures.

I hadn’t realised Victrix was in Kendel - do they have a shop or did you arrange a special visit?

Hi Fred, they have a sort of small warehouse facility, I just phoned the previous day and asked if they would mind me stopping off to buy. I knew what I wanted, so it was s 5 minute hit. It is office staff and packers, so they are doing a full time job, rather than being counter staff who can stop for a chat.

The more recent kits are certainly including more options.

I can see buyers selling off spare sprues on e-bay. Some of the extra vehicles can be duffed up and used a knocked out tanks for game markers.

I pretty much thought the same and then I looked at some Rapid Fire scenarios, which used 6 Panthers and I now think the extra utility of the ‘6 pack’ is okay and can help in making two understrength platoons, which at this scale is not out of place on a standard table.
