Strong work Oxiana! :-*  I really love the standard and the conch shell horn!  And the palanquin is especially nice!

Question:  Who makes the little girl holding the dog?  I was thinking that with the proper painting she would be nice as a mexican villager for my wild west game.

Thanks!

The girl with dog comes from this Foundry set INC1/2:

The two boys would also work well as Mexican/Apache kids. I haven't painted up the boy with dog yet as the base moulding is too large to go on a 25mm. It needs a 30mm washer really, but I haven't got around to going to the hardware store to replenish my supplies yet.

Love that Palanquin ;D

Thanks. It's a bit of a fiddle though - I'm glad I didn't go for the one with eight bearers instead of four. A bit more 'paint a bit, glue a bit, base a bit' than I'm normally used to! I also found that with the bearers I needed to do some gently twisting of the arms or pushing together pliers to get them to take the palanquin poles well. So, my tip is glue the palanquin together, slide all the bearers on to their poles, move and twist as necessary and then mark on the base of each bearer where he's going to go (eg front left). I also drew around their bases onto the main base (5x8cm for this model, longer for the eight bearer model), so I could get on with building up the base with filler while leaving adequate space for the figures.

Oh, and note that the palanquin has a front and back. And remember that fact before you apply the glue. Not after. Only a real muppet would do that... (hangs head in shame, goes to sit on the naughty corner).

Very nice indeed - I've always been put off Outpost although I now see it's probably the paint jobs that ruined them.......more lead for the mountain  ;)

The Inca were a joint commission between Neil Burt, Jeff at Outpost and myself. They are by Martin Baker who sculpts a good few ranges, what was interesting is that we asked him to sculpt them in a similar style to the Foudnry figures by Josef Ochmann and I was amazed at how well they turned out.

Absolutely - great sculpts and they take the paint like a dream. And very accurate when you compare them to source material, like the illustrations in Poma de Ayala's manuscript. Also, you get great service from Jeff at Outpost. Good work all round, really.

I'm taking a break from the Incas for a while, and am going to start on some conquistadors. These are the last of the Incas for a while. Incas with slings and bolas, figures by Outpost. The poses are a little unnatural perhaps, but the figures come with open hands and a variety of weapons - as well as slings and bolas, also maces, clubs and spears - so they're actually pretty versatile for rank and file warriors.

This thread is certainly keeping me honest. Two months in and I've knocked off 30 Inca warriors, a right fiddly palanquin, standard bearer, a mummy, seven civilians - and eight llamas. That's a total I can live with.

Right then, I'm off to choose some bright colours for my conquistadors!

A shot like this?

As for the scenery, well maybe I should take a leaf out of the Overlord book of scenery construction, and start building Machu Picchu brick by brick?  ;D

He has already exceeded your count including last year lol

Brick by brick? You have to be mental on the Overlord scale to do that. Why have I now got visions of London Bobbys on Inca temples?

Thanks for the group shot.

Coming on rather well Paul  :)

Here, by the way, is my own rather feeble MDF ziggurat - it's blinking solid though  ;)

Might give you some ideas...

And with some figures on the top couple of storeys, to give you the scale...
