No painting for me in December until yesterday; got the last of the furniture done for my Castle and Dungeon project - will continue to add small amounts of internal scatter to give some variation to the rooms.

Some work deadlines and preparation for Christmas slowed my painting so far in December, but I did manage to finish some command bases for my 15mm orc army, and paint a stick of orc spearmen. (Also, a thank you to the Iron Mitten blog for providing inspiration for the banners, the 28mm Middle Earth armies there are quite amazing!)

I think I started this PJ back in... 2003?... and just completed it.

Based on a rubber toy, manned by converted Mithril Miniature heavily converted Haradrim heathens. This was project was initiated well before Mithril released their own mumak. I am glad I did, because it is (and I do not say this lightly) a *horrible lump of lead..

The caparison, which actually triggered the project is a piece of beautifully colored and textured paper, red with golden/bronze studs, which I draped on the toy elephant. The howdha is built with mahogany wood strips and clad with bronze scales and shields.

Going back to an old paint job/build is a bit of a Pandora's box, isn't it. As you start touching up tings here and there, you easily end up think you should redo the whole thing...

Lovely to see what you've all been up to! Some really excellent work there.

I haven't painted anything since February so I'll applaud from the sidelines.

More Random Minis (but I am trying to paint up my copy of Core Space - First Born)

Cassie from Core Space

Drones from Core Space

and a Highland Miniatures Skeleton resin 3D print (first of a unit of 10 to get a colour scheme together) - they're great figures

No dear, they are not toys, they are models

Very nice job on that skeleton, looks like their Dynasties set?  I have three units of their Transilvany set in my queue, only hope I too can do them justice.

Thanks

looks like their Dynasties set?

Eternal Dynasties, yes.

I got them from mini-print-factory on eBay.  They were ridiculously cheap at around £12 for 10 28mm figures and printed in a flexible resin.  Very clean and hardly any clean up required.  Highly recommended.

I no longer think of buying a resin printer when there are now so many good models/vendors available at very affordable prices.  It would take a lot of purchases to come near the price of a printer and bath let alone the ongoing resin and consumables as well.

Agreed, and I assume the files cost money too, so as long as you shop around there are some great small businesses out there now where people bought printers for themselves but now knock out stuff at a good price to subsidise their own costs, and the range of designs is huge.
