Hello Folks,

I've put this thread together to track the fantasy miniatures I'm painting for Dungeons and Dragons, Rangers of Shadowdeep, Frostgrave, etc.

I'm currently running the 2nd Edition Campaign Night Below, which has been converted to the 5th Edition.

First up is one of the player characters, Sindri the Enchanter. Sindri is a gnome diviner who used to travel with the Circus as a stage magician. He made a deal to become a real wizard with a Hag. Unfortunately, the Hag extracted a high price from Sindri, transforming his wife into a statue. Now, the small gnome travels the world searching for a way to free his wife.

Miniature by Reaper Bones

The party have reached Book 2 for the Night Below, which takes them into the Underdark. This is a quick paint job on a Reaper Bones Drider. Driders are Drow Elves who have deeply insulted their Goddess Lloth and have been transformed into these feral spider hybrids.

Finally, this is an unnamed Mindflayer, again Reaper Bones, who will make an appearance shortly. In the Night Below, the party discovers a sinister plot hatched in the Underdark by several Eldritch creatures. The Mindflayers are servants of these creatures and the major antagonists of Book 2.

Over the next couple of weeks I'll be painting a variety of other miniatures as the players encounter them in the story.

Indeed, where is Quentin - enquiring minds need to know.

He's busy being fabulous. I heard he was masquerading as a good guy these days, but I don't believe it.

Cheers folks!

One of my projects this year is a Ranger of Shadowdeep project and my ongoing D&D campaign.

Today's update is fun; some Tabletop World, eh, tables.

The amount of detail in these is pretty astounding. I really enjoyed painting them, and although it was a bit of a challenge to paint a miniature with as many fine details, still, I'm happy with the result.

What's next for this project? Well, I've got some rangers on the painting desk, along with various monsters.

I've been plugging away at some of the painting back log and finishing more miniatures for my fantasy project.

The first is some Tabletop World furniture: a bed and a sideboard. Initially, I was going to paint the fleece as fur; however, after base coating, I felt that it would be better as some fleece from a sheep or goat. I've still got a wardrobe, bookcase and some benches to paint.

I also finished some Umber Hulks. These beasties have changed design through the editions, with the newest version being these bug-like creatures. I primarily stuck with the official colour scheme. However, realising that there was no umber in the scheme, I painted the creature's underbelly burnt umber. As the beast can mesmerise with its eyes, I felt a more unusual colour would be best. I tried glazing for the first time, glazing the mandibles with a green.

I've not strayed too far from my regular basing scheme; however, as Umber Hulks are usually found in caves and the Underdark, I decided that grass stuff wouldn't do. Instead, I bought some small mushroom clusters; I'll use these on all my underdark/cave-dwelling monsters.

Next up, probably the furniture as mentioned earlier and some rangers.

Cheers
Andy

Very impressive output.  Loving both the furniture and the miniatures.

Your Umber Hulks look fantastic! Nice rationale on the color selection.

Where are the models from?

it's never occured to me that Umber Hulks should even be umber...
