Yup, it's the iconic look of Greece and the Greek islands as well as being the Greek national colours of course. White stucco and blue doors, windows and window shutters. It's not universal but pretty ubiquitous. You can mix in plain stone and rubble like walls.
To get the look of a typical Cretan or Greek village, you'll want a mix of tiled roofs and flat ones. A lot of their churches favour a neo-Romanesque style with rounded cupolas. It all adds flavour.
Best advice, short of a quick getaway holiday to Heraklion, would be to break out the Google maps and do a virtual tour of a few more remote villages. You can easily discern and discard the modern buildings.
