Battle Report - Rival's Bounty (20 pics)
« on: December 06, 2009, 09:37:05 PM »
I remembered to bring the camera to a Fantastic Worlds (Rattrap Productions) game...
Figures are by Reaper and Heroclix, all modded and painted by me.
Terrain is two DVD-player shells for the frame, then computer parts for the walls.

WOW great report! and nice use of an old computer tower.

Wow, great looking minis and a really cool write up. And clever use of scenery there, points for that. So how did you like the rules you were using for the game. I've heard some good things about them and was thinking of checking them out. Thanks for sharing.

I recommend them highly, which one might gather from my various posts here.

Great looking game Froggy. I love the creative use of old dvd and computer parts. 2 questions, where do you manage to find all these old dvd players? What is the cool looking little cart made from? I could so use something like that. :D

The cool looking little cart is made from wire, electronics contacts, wheels off an n-scale vehicle, and some nebulizer/inhaler medicine tubes.

Once I started gaining a reputation for making things out of junk, I can pretty much guarantee that I can go to just about any convention and someone will bring me dead electronics and then watch me, waiting for me to make something right then and there.  Sometimes I do.

Thanks for the info Froggy...any chance of a tutorial or quick plans? Maybe you should start running classes or demo's on how to build something from leftovers. I know I would be signed up for it. :D

I think the idea is funny, but I think the look of it all winds up a bit too "unpainted" for my taste. Don't really know how to explain it otherwise.  o_o

I really like the idea of turning junk into terrain though. :-*

Very nice report, lots of cool action going on. I do think a paintjob would help to tie the scenery a bit more together and with some added detail give a better sense of scale too, but it looked great none-the-less!

This was a two-player game.  You can see my opponent's hand in the 4th shot.

I agree that paint would help.  However, considering I only figured out how to make the interior partitions 15 minutes before the game, I don't any paintjob I could have managed would have helped as such...
