Just reading through Mike’s comments. (Hope you enjoyed your holiday  ;) :))

I wonder if we overstretched ourselves ?
We had 5 units on the table plus the extra command and mg figures.
Rolling dice per figure, did take some time.
Rolling POOR dice almost every time didn't help at all.  :o.

We will play a smaller game this week.
Plan is to have a couple of US units, checking out a village, for stores and info.
Let’s see if we can improve on our last performance  lol

That looks like a VC clubhouse for sure can't we just bomb it Bob?
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

2019 Painting Challenge :
figures bought: 500+
figures painted: 57
9 vehicles painted
4 terrain pieces scratchbuilt

Garry (ex-wargaming friend) would have requested, ''Let's take off & nuke them from orbit'  lol

I don’t think that’s one of the “actions” in the rules James, but tbh, I would cut back on US casualties  lol

Well...kind of! If you get the "Fire Mission" Event Card early enough, why not?? One of the things I was thinking of doing to make it less tough was to add a second one of those cards to the deck...

So, maybe you will get a chance to stand off and blow up that VC Clubhouse!  :D

Thank you guys for all your efforts. I am going to work my way up slowly with more players. Next step is a solo game with three "players." Then, at World at War convention in Toledo in November and Hold the Line at Camp Perry, I will try four player games.

And yes, your scenery looks fantastic!! Next up for me, terrain-wise, is some bamboo patches and rice paddies.

Rice paddies on call.
These are paddies from Foxtrot Charlie in the UK.

They do come up nice with a little effort.

As far as bamboo thickets go - plastic aquarium bamboo is ideal; I made up a lot of them for samurai games a little while ago - a few on a base allows for loads to be placed giving the illusion of a dense thicket but letting you move them aside for figures to move between.
