Home many scales do you have for WW2?

For me it is:

1) Airfix 1/72nd (Childhood toys);
2) Airfix 1/32nd (ditto);
3) 28mm Crusader and Harlequin-or-whatever-they-are-called-nowadays-if-they-still-exist (mostly);
4) Copplestone's Little Soldiers (pseudo period);
5) 20mm FFA - just a few infantry for both sides;
6) 12mm Victrix - demoralized that they are not carrying on with DAK and desert war in general;
7) 15mm - nope - I mean yes, I did have FOW but got rid.
Paperboys is getting into paper WW2. Not tried to build any of the vehicles yet. "Be afraid. Very Afraid!"

That is all, except now I am somehow compelled to place an order with Airfix - just a small one you understand - and I've been looking at Plastic Soldier Company kits. Donald Featherstone's "Battles with Model Soldiers" (first wargames book ever) and Charles Grant's "Battle" are calling to me...

Painted and ready to go:

20mm- German army for Normandy
15mm - German and US army for mid 1944 onwards
3mm - US Airfoce and Luftwaffe mid 1944 onwards

In stock and not built/painted/finished - too much 28mm (focussed on 0200 tbh) 20mm, 15mm, 6mm and 3mm than I care to count for anything from the opening days ot the war till the surrender of Japan. Focus is a lovely thing.

Currently looking at epxanding my 3mm ground forces (Russian and German) for the winter of 44.

1) 10mm - loads of armies for different theatres and periods had loads of table time with different rules over the last 15 years

2) 15mm - just 8th Army very little FoW in this (not entirely sure why I bought, built and painted these, as they are a direct replica of a 10mm army). Actually got a fair bit of table time, mainly with Battlefront rules.

3) 1/72nd airfix and other plastics - my first wargames troops - just stashed away from 40 years ago. Operation Warboard was the goto rules with these troops back in the day.

4) 28mm - a handful of platoon sized units I think only 1 of them has ever been on the table (and of course I have these same troops in 10mm)

5) 1/35th not really wargames figures but still have quite a lot of these stashed away from when I was a kid

So basically I've managed to avoid 6mm!

6mm Germans and British. Both have an infantry company with transport and tanks. The German's a lot more as it was an ebay purchase going cheap. Just added an infantry company. Actually going to to try 7DTR type game doing a German blitzkrieg. Hopefully.

Three scales for me. 20mm was my "original scale" going back to the '70s-90s.  I then picked up some 10mm on a bring-and-buy and found it a nice scale. The vehicles and figures were more detailed than 6mm ( unless GHQ...). I am just finishing my 1/200/10mm 1940 French and Germans that I purchased back in the mid '90s!  I also have 15mm 1944 British and German, Japanese and USMC.  I have found the quality of 15mm sculpts much improved plus several 29mm manufacturer seem to have disappeared.

I have resisted the lure of 28mm. Whilst several of my mates have gone this way for Chain of Command I actually prefer 20mm for "large skirmish games" .

Three for WW2 proper: mostly 1/87, the one true scale; some 28mm because a lot of Bolt Action at the club; a bit of 1/285 because some at the club.
 
Two WW2 adjacent for Girls und Panzer: mostly 15mm for gaming, some 10mm to go with N scale model trains.

The version we used was a proper book, from the school library, there were two editions I remember a paperback sized version with a photo of a game on the cover, and a slightly larger format hardback, with a more stylised cover with a black and white tank (perhaps a Valentine) with red text.

I actually re-found my copy the other day, it had fallen behind a chest of drawers!

Woot! UPS has notified that my first direct order from Airfix (i.e. Hornby Hobbies) is expected to arrive tomorrow! 

They only just shipped it on the 18th...so +1 to them (and UPS.)

1) 20mm plastics way back in the 1970s. Somehow disappeared
2) 6mm H&R, Scotia from end of 1970s to 1980s
3) 15mm I had Turks, Lithuanians, and other mainstream bits, swapped them for 10mm
4) 10mm for last several years now, have Turks, Italians, Slovenians, Germans for Italy, 1940 French, BEF.
5) 20mm because I love building 1/72 kits, and mostly for display, do occasionally use them for WoT type games.

3D printing has revolutionised the latter two, I can get guns and vehicles that would never become available as plastic kits. 10mm because N guage model rail scenery fits, and you can get card buildings of German houses.
