Amazing dedails on those. A tutorial would be great! And I'm looking forward the excavation scene. There are so many cool archeologist minis around, we must find a way to put them to good use!

That is brilliant work as usual! And so well thought through! That is really the best way to give your pieces such character.

I'd be also interested in your wood colour recipe and also your source for the tiled roof.

Hello fellow pulpists! I’m glad to be back.

Here is a picture of me in the lair of the Great Old One getting ready to cut more wood beams for the houses.

Here you can see the wood walkways dad made to give the gaming area a more 3-d feel. For the nails on the walkway dad used dabs of puff paint. As you can see we added wood beams on the front of all the buildings now. I made these today out of 1/2 inch pieces of 1/8 inch diameter sticks. If you look closely you can see the carpet dad added on one of the houses. He added other carpets on other houses I just didn’t take pictures of those yet.

Major Payne- You really shouldn’t encourage my dad to wear hats. The first step to recovery is admitting you have a problem.

Remington- We used a dark walnut minwax stain for the wood color. I dipped each piece separately in the stain then let it dry for about 10 minutes and then wiped away the excess stain. We made the tiled roof ourselves from a mold supplied by our good friends over at Hirst Molds.

Thanks for all the kind words of encouragement.

Hey Wolf Girl,

thank you for the reply. Loving the walkways... By the way, I wouldn't go to mad with the round wooden beams. It makes the whole project appear too... Pueblo. As far as I remember from my World Architecture course, buildings in Yemen and North Africa the visible wooden beams are not that regularly employed.

The walk-ways definitely add a great dimension to games & the angle bits at each end are very clever.
Heck, you can use a pair of walk-ways to space your buildings when setting up your tables. Just make an alley sized pair (or more!) for the narrow places.

Thanks for keeping us inspired and elevated.  8) 8) 8)

In this picture it looks like you've just realised you've glued your hand to the material there, sorry.

Fantastic thread, here.

I must start to scratchbuild more buildings as soon as we have bought - and moved to - a new home. (We're actually close, now, I think).

Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Now that school is nearly (or "is") out... any time for that tutorial?

I'm such a royal pain in the butt.

Nope - just read Johnno's post as if...  :D

Btw, I'm sure that many wives and girlfriends see us gamers as irritating - but HEY, we do not lay on the couch in our dirty underwear drinking canned beer while watching football all Sunday!! At least I don't....

I love the little beams popping out! I'm going to put them on my buildings too.

Thanks for showing us all this wonderful work!

Was revisiting this post, and noticed the comic art on the wall - just curious, what's it from?  I didn't recognize the artist off the top of my head.
Check out THE CROGAN ADVENTURES, a historical adventure graphic novel series available from your local bookstore or comic shop (or, of course, Amazon).  I make 'em.
