An easy answer might be some of the same stuff you use to make the clear bases, with some wood crosspieces glued on?
Ayup, that's definitely one of the options I'm thinking about. I've done windows like that before, but I might try something different this time.
I have always been a big fan of your doors. How exactly do you achieve that whole finish? Please share.
I use wood stains instead of paint. First the pieces are dipped in a bath of minwax's Golden Oak and wiped off. This is a really light stain and gives the wood a nice golden color.
After that's fairly dry, I'll use a darker stain to add a bit more character. Usually a few dabs along the bottom of the door and a few other random spots. The nice thing is how this is absorbed and looks quite natural.
Lastly, I'll sand it gently - aiming mainly to lighten the edges.
I hope that helps.
