Cheers, richarDMB!

In the early stages of the project I briefly considered building them from scratch but this would have cost me the last bits of sanity I have left, so I decided to use ready-made houses and put them in a new context. If you look in my gallery, you can even see the different layouts I have tried...
OK, you asked for it:

Front row: These are the wonderful buildings by dutch master modeller Gerard Boom. Except for the small house second to the left which is from Hovels. Geboom, as he is known on this forum, has an own homepage (
www.shiftinglands.com ) where you can get the houses.
The brilliant half-timber houses top right are from Steve Barber Models(
http://www.sbarber-models.clara.net/main.html ) I like them very much because they look almost exactly like the half-timber houses up here in Northern Germany. These are produced in stackable floors and separate roofs, you can stack them as high as you like. The two towered city hall was also made by him.
The small church in the second row on the left is made by Hovels as is the long house right behind it.
Different view:

The double-building in the second row are two identical ones by Hovels, I simply glued them to each other. The three buildings on the opposite side of the plaza are by JR Miniatures, originally intended for being used in FIW-era games, I believe.
The JR Miniatures Houses are fantastically detailed and have a very high casting quality but they are nearly impossible to degrease! The colour keeps rubbing off again and again....

All in all, I like the Geboom and Steve Barber stuff the most.
Hope that helped.
