Photo skills or not! - that's a mighty impressive looking unit. Job well done, WK. Now, how need command figures when such beauties excists :P Nah, just kidding of course - will be looking forward seeing your take on commands - and see them take their rightful place.

On a side note, I just want to let you know, that the most awesome miniatures has just arrived. Can't really believe how good they are. Certainly worth waiting for. Thanks for such fast service ;)

They will offer some options too (heads and such), probably more than I need myself given that I already have marauder command figures for 3 out of 5 core infantry units.

I assume they're assembled and undercoated as we speak?

Not yet, first I need to document them for the Pickford-Wiki, of course;)

And then I think the first one will actually be a conversion. Really like the two Pistoliers, but as the rest of them will be armed with spears and shields ;D, I have to find a good use for them. So one might actually be turned into at  heavy armoured medieval knight - if I can scultp a decent lance;)

Wk,

Hey man...quick question...will the Cav heads be available separately?  I would love to mix in a few their helmets into my pike block too.

The Marauder Command section looks amazing... :-*...As I have stated else where these are the figures that got me hooked on Marauder back in the day so its awesome to see them so well painted and grouped up with your excellent additions.  I'll get there some day!

Cheers,

Blue

Isn't this going to be a problem when I release the actual heavily armoured knights? ;)

Great looking unit, they all fit really well together, the Marauder dwarfs and yours, it is hard to tell which are which.

I look forward to start painting my own little dwarf army, but so many projects, so I have to wait a little bit before I have the time.

That really is an EXCELLENT looking pike block. What's striking for moi is the way they work so well together yet retain their individuality...very Renaissance.

2 more ponyriders, one for the lances and one for the swords. I used one of the separate feathers that come with the sets on these two. A quick hole drilled in the back of the helmet, feather inserted and voila.

The second of the Light Lances. I decided to try out something else for the armour and leave it black, with gold trim. I may do this for the whole unit, to set them further apart from the pistoleers and the greys.

Second figure for the Imperial Dwarf Greys.

With their respective brothers in arms (they got matching ponies and everything):

Awesome!

I can move back to painting some early next month.  I have to do a few fellows for a couple of Mordheim warbands, but then some of these pony-lads are next on deck.  I am seriously looking forward to painting on them.

Awesome paintjob, WK  :) And have to admit, that Im slightly surprise seeing how good the black armour would turn out. Would have thought it would have worked out that well. Will be looking forward see a unit painted like that.

I love those Little Guys; the cavalry are the COOLEST of a VERY COOL array of minis...I think the attitude the ponies evince is the extra bit that makes the minis.  Your paint job takes them to yet a higher level...WELL DONE!

Re: A return to the Empire - 4 goblins added (11/01)

While the goblins are with Pete Brown for productionmoulding, I couldn't resist temptation to paint a couple spare mastercastings of the new ones. Last time I painted one with sword and shield and one with a handgun, this time I'd do one with spear and shield, one with a crossbow and two with halberds

First two of the Goblin Halberdier unit. I decided to give all the goblins in this unit helmets (luckily, I have 4 variants, so they don't all need to look the same) and a majority of them breastplates. This will give them a certain uniformity. I'm quite happy with how they look and the helmets almost give me a LOTR vibe. The scrolls on the shield read "We Be Goblin" (mostly because there wasn't enough room to add the "s" at the end).

The one with the spear uses one of the handless "shooter" bodies and the shield with a hand already sculpted onto it. I noticed after assembly that the shield is pointing a bit to the ground. It could have been placed differently with a quick pass with a needlefile on the sleeve. Hopefully this option will help to make them look sufficiently different from the "thrusting the spear with both hands" option (as seen on the second halberdier) and add to the variety. Oh, and the little scroll on the shield says "Up Yours". They may be dressed as civilised beings, but they're still rude goblins after all.

The crossbow goblin. Not much to say, other than that I realised when I started painting it that if I'd given it a spear instead of a crossbow, he'd look a lot like the marauder MM15 pikedwarf.

A group shot with the other two:

VERY WELL DONE! Your Goblins bring out an aspect of the Goblin Guys that G.W. choices to ignore; i.e., Goblins are snappy dressers.
