One more thing!

I can NOT take the credit for painting the Cavalry and infantry.
I bought them years ago (IIRC via a PM here on the forum) from someone, unfortunately I can't remember from whom...
 :'(
So if the unknown painter recognizes his work, please sent me PM and I will credit you properly!

They look lovely, whoever they were painted by. The tank is just excellent.  :)

Just all fantastic.   :)

Tank by Copplestone, Cavalry and Infantry by Old Glory

I have never bought any OG and have heard "they are not very good..."  But these look excellent.  What range are they from?  And how do they compare with Copplestone and Foundry?  (Am I missing out on some excellent figures here?)

I honestly do not know. The minis are OK, they are just too small compared to Copplestone minis. The newer BoB infantry by Copplestone are a head taller...
Foundry is a bit bigger but not that bad.
I will still use them all together...

No you're not.

I agree these look pretty good at this distance - which just goes to show that a decent paintjob goes a very long way.
But don't be seduced! I've bought three bags of OG troops (from three different ranges), and on all three occasions, the quality of the anatomy, sculpting and casting was so bad that out of each bag of 30 miniatures, I ended up using a mere handful which were good enough to pass muster and getting rid of the rest. In short, sorry, but I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole any more. I know some people like them, and I'm sure there are some good figures amongst what is a vast range. But generally, the quality is a long way behind the likes of Copplestone and most other current designers and manufacturers.

No reflection on Agis' lovely picture  :)

Just to point out that those OG figs are Victorian colonial Brits, so not really in the right gear for 1920s "BoB." As to Orctrader's question I think they may be from the Boer War range.

Not judging anyone who wants to use them thus, I just don't want Orctrader buying a load and then thinking he's been swizzed.  :)

I'm one of those people who thinks they don't much like Old Glory - the bare metal doesn't inspire me much. But they do tend to look pretty good when some talented soul has a good old go at them, as Agis' picture shows.

Just a quickie - how did you do the weathering on the Sopwith?

In any case they look far better than our old arch-nemesis Tiger Miniatures.

Just a quickie - how did you do the weathering on the Sopwith?

Thinned down wash of Armypainter dipping fluid, brushed on.
Then Matt varnsih and some Tamiya weathering powder.
